Devaun Bovell

Devaun was born and raised in Harlem, NY. He was a four-year A Better Chance of New Canaan Scholar and graduated from New Canaan High School in 2013. During his time in New Canaan, he participated in track & field, the Youth Group at the Congregational Church, and excelled academically. Devaun attended Boston College, where he ran track for four-years, was a leader in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2017.

He is passionate about education and career development of young adults. After his time at BC, Devaun worked in college athletics for two years, received his Master’s Degree in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, then worked in the non-profit sector. He is now back in higher education, managing support programs and counseling students who are underrepresented in the business school at Northeastern University. 

Outside of work, Devaun has been a Board Member of ABC New Canaan since August 2020. He is also a volunteer track coach through a non-profit youth sports program in Boston. He enjoys exercising, watching documentaries, traveling, and trying new foods. ABC New Canaan was a life changing experience that has helped him find success in college, his career, and beyond.
